Crypto Exchange App
The Product
The product: I created an app for people who want to invest in cryptocurrencies and need a single platform that allows them to manage, store and exchange their coins at any time.
The Problem
Users want a user-friendly platform that gives user a sense of trust and security and allows them to buy and sell coins directly with other users.
The Goal
I want to develop an application so that our users can manage their cryptocurrencies, trade and exchange.
My Role
UX designer responsible for the app’s design from conception to delivery.
Responsibilities
Creating user-centered designs by understanding business requirements, User research, conducting interviews, and user feedback.
Creating user flows, wireframes, Low and High fidelity, Usability testing and studies, prototypes, and factoring accessibility in my design and mockups.
Translating requirements into style guides, design systems, design patterns, and attractive user interfaces.
User Research: Summary
I conducted user interviews, which I then converted into empathy maps to better understand the target users and their needs.
From this short survey, I can conclude that people want to have access to tracking portfolio analysis and trading history in their app. Many users indicated that they like to check crypto charts.
User Pain Point
Competitive analysis
I had to make a research about my competitors, as it was new territory for me. I did extensive research on my direct and indirect competitors, so I knew what they were doing right and what was the path to improvement.
I had to set up accounts with Binance, Luno and Roqqu, to name a few, to understand what it's like to navigate their platform. It enhanced my understanding of the crypto space, the potential problems users could face and how to create a better product and overall user experience.
User Persona
I created a user persona to perfectly depict who the target audience are
User Journey Map
This showed how potential users could interact with the app to ensure they have a good user experience.
User Flow
Digital wireframe
After I was done with my sketch and picking up what designs are key, decided to take it one step better by doing a digital wireframe and ensured i followed design best practices.
Usability Test (Low fidelity prototype)
I did a low-fidelity prototype, and linked all screens together right from the landing page to the end of the user flow which is the transaction successful page.

I did a round of usability testing afterward to know what works and what doesn’t work, which key buttons weren’t linked properly, and what corrections needed to make.
I made use of the feedback and head back to my canvas to effect correction so as to address user pain points
Onboarding Design
I designed a splash and intuitive onboarding that throws light on the core features of the wallet.
Crypto Charts
Users can get a real-time view of the latest market action and switch between visualisation methods and colour schemes.
